BEWARE OF MALWARE

Hello Bloggers! Today I am going to talk about malware!

What is malware?

Malware is short for malicious software which is software used or created to disrupt computer operation! Viruses, worms, and Trojan horses are examples of malicious software that are often grouped together and referred to as malware.

How many types of malware are there?

There are about 12 different types of malware, they are: Viruses, worms, wabbits, Trojans, Spyware, Exploits, Rootkit, key loggers, dialers, URL Injections and adware these are all different types of malware which can damage your computer or kill it!

How do I stop malware?

You can stop malware by installing good pop up blockers, don’t open spam email messages or click links on suspicious websites you should use an email client that includes a spam guard. Keep your firewall turned on, disable cookies on your internet browser, read the fine print when downloading and scan your computer with the Microsoft Safety Scanner.

How can malware damage your computer?

The damage caused by a virus which is infects a home computer can be different – from in – significant increase in outgoing traffic (if a computer is infected by a Trojan sending out spam) to the complete network breakdown or the loss of critical data. The damage depends on the targets of the virus and sometimes the results of its activity are imperceptible for users of a compromised machine.

One in eight sites that appear in a search for the actress is malicious, pushing malware or stealing personal data, according to McAfee. That makes Emma Watson the “Most dangerous” celebrity on the internet. Cyber Crime is soaring exponentially, say Symantec and McAfee. One in five users have seen their mobile gadgets or social networking profile affected.
